What is "Dim Sum"?

Chinese Dim Sum was originated from Guang Dong and is one of the most famous cuisine in the world. The idea behind dim sum is similar to Spanish tapas, offering a variety of food in small portions, thus being able to taste a range of different foods which are cooked in a variety of ways in order to experience the complexity and sensation of food within just one meal.

Different from other Guang Dong dishes, Dim Sum is more about the freshness and taste of the ingredients. Cooking methods are mainly steamed or lightly fried to preserve the delicious yet original flavour that each ingredient delivers. Dim Sum, also known as "Yum Cha" (meaning drink tea), is a customary tradition for Hong Kong people where it is best enjoyed in the morning or for lunch.
